Cross...Bow

Porter decided he wanted to bear his testimony at church today. He just got up and did it without any coaxing. I was proud of him. But just as he was finishing up I had to hide me face and cover my mouth so he couldn't hear me laughing out loud! He did a great job right up until he said, "I know that my Savior suffered and died for me on the cross-bow." Oh my word. It was hilarious! The poor elder on the stand were trying so hard not to laugh out loud that his face was bright red and he was doubled over. The bishopric got a good chuckle too. When Porter came to sit down I asked him, "Where did Jesus suffer for us?" He got embarassed and said, "I know I said the cross-bow but then I remembered he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemene, not on the cross-bow." I smiled again and told him I thought he did a really great job. Cause really... he did. I'm happy that he has a testimony of Christ and his gift to us at such a young age.

And honestly....

I can see the similarities.

He's braver than I was at that age! Good for him.

My hubs always cringes when my oldest gets up -- the first few times it was (quite literally) pound the pulpit sermonizing about the Plan of Happiness (yeah, he's a CTR-7 going on Southern Baptist minister I guess). I just get weepy imagining him in 12 years on a mission.
