Remember When...

I know, I know. Most of you have probably seen this post a million times now since it is circling the blogging world like a bad case of teenage acne. When a friend of mine first posted this I thought it was a great idea. I left a memory I had of her immediately. (It was a good one too! LOL) I thought that I might do something like this but then I started seeing it pop up everywhere and thought, "I'll bet people are getting tired of this by now so maybe I'll just skip it." Then everything changed when my good friend Tasha posted. I had so many funny memories of growing up across the street from her that I couldn't not comment. I did and decided that if you are tired of this post then feel free to not leave a comment. If not... I sure hope that at least a few of you have a memory or two about us together. If not... well, I guess I had better start putting myself out there more and making some memories!!!

Oh, and for a little inspiration I have added a few photos to get the creative juices flowing. Here are some pictures of some of my favorite things from the decades I grew up in. (Well, the last isn't necessarily a favorite but I do enjoy the books. This is just a friendly reminder that the final book in the series comes out this weekend! Have fun reading and for those of you that live nearby, well I won't be planning on seeing you until at least Wednesday of next week, even thought I won't get a copy until the second or third week in August. Happy reading!!!)

What's that you say? This isn't the biggest thing to come out in 2000's? That's not what I heard! :)

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If were only blogging friends write about a post that was the most memorable for you. (and if you usually don't comment leave a comment would love to hear from you too)

2. Next, if you feel so inclined, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you...!

Do I only get to choose one?? Where do I begin! We sure had some great times at good ole Hogi Yogi, didn't we? I'd have to say my favorite was the night you and I stayed and worked all through the night braiding bread for some monster order and watched like 5 movies. The only one I can remember though is the 3 Amigos. What was the line we always quoted? Either that or the time we did disco karaoke and sang Brittney Spears with that little girl. We looked hot!! Anyway, good times. What a fun post! I'm glad to hear you made it to Canada safely. How is life treating you up there? Luv ya (;

My fav is being left alone at your house while our parents were out (I think it was you, Kara, me and maybe Kellie) anywho, someone comes knocking on the door and we flip out thinking it's a bear outside coming to get us and we run and hide. It's amazing the imagination you have as a child isn't it?

Mine would have to be always having a bag packed under the bed just in case we had to run away quickly because of the many shennanigans we got ourselves into. That poor old tattered garbage bag!
Another would have to be having our kicking wars every night before bed to see who got to sleep on the "good" side of the bed. Good times, except for the messy room, you are now so much cleaner than you were back in the day, I am sure Mike will appreciate all the hard work I put in on that!

Okay, first of all you might want to remind Mike that this is a family friendly site...
Just teasin', I actually laughed out loud when I read his 2 words!
Remember when, a few years back, you invited a bunch of us Vanderhoofians over to make Christmas decorations? That is still one of my favorite things, very fun!! And a bit of work for you to put together--thanks again!!
Remember when we thought there was a cougar outside our tent & were too scared to do anything about it? And like you posted, remember the times we would walk each other home, only to turn around and walk the other back again? Ahh, the memories! A huge part of my girls camp memories involve you--well a huge part of any memory from the age of 8 to about 15 I guess!! You were always super nice to me, I always felt like I could count on you to talk to or whatever. Things were kinda crazy there for a while, but I always knew you were there. You've been a great friend to me Karli, I sure appreciate & love you!!
But yeah, we could probably write a book of all our escapades, growing up in the sticks!
Love this post, so fun to just sit here and think & laugh (nick thinks i'm crazy...) (he might be right!)

Karli-
Guess who this is! I googled you and found your blog so hope you dont think you have a stalker here.... but I thought I would give you a memory and see if you remember me. I remember getting to come and visit you and how we would slide down the laundry shoot into the basement and staying up all night talking about what we had done all year with boys and friends and just catching up in general. Any thoughts.. I know my childhood memories are a little foggy but this is Beth Manwaring/Owens. I am so excited to see you and your family all grow up. I have a blog too all my family links are on it too.. www.arizonaowens.blogspot.com Check my blog and see whats new with me. Its good to see you and see you still look like karli

It was fun when you lived at your Grandma's house when you were going to college. That was fun to get to know you. I have a memory of you making a care package for your brother (was it Kaelen) on a mission. I watched you put packages and packages of candy in there, amazed at how much you put in there. What a good sister. I hope Kaelen appreciates you. : >
It was also fun to watch you meet and fall in love with Mike while you were there.
We miss you!!!
