Living With Boys...

I sort of think I'm the luckiest mom in the world.  Seriously!  I love being a mom of boys... Love it!  We get to do a lot of fun things and while we mostly do things that boys enjoy, I still get the time to craft and do a few 'girly' things.

For example...

When I want to make a beautiful pie I do it!  I just a have to make a few alterations...

... like using a "Yoda Using the Force" design.  :)

And since EVERY SINGLE PAIR OF JEANS (I swear!!!!) end up with holes in them I've been patching up a storm.  I've actually enjoyed it!  I consider it my 'sewing' time.  :)  And since flowers on a pair of little boy jeans just won't do, this is what we've come up with...

We've got Green Lantern

The Flash and Captain America

The Punisher

The Union Jack

Porter's favorite NFL team, the Chicago Bears

And of course Superman!

Not that I'm wishing for more holes in their jeans, but I had a lot of fun coming up with these ideas and creating these patches.  All I've done is look up a logo of what I want on Google, print it out in black and white in the size I need and then start cutting layers of fabric in the shapes I need and then sewing them together.  I sew a denim patch on the inside of the jeans to really patch them well and then add the patch on top and VOILA!!!!

The boys think they're cool and I get my sewing habits taken care of. :)

You are my hero! Since Clark started school the holes appear almost instantly! I am DEFINITELY using some ideas of yours. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this cute idea! All the store bought or Etsy patches are either too cutesy or not boyish enough. I make the flash patch for my 6 year old and he loves it! Any tips on how to reach the patch that far up on the leg? I had a little trouble manuevering my machine around the patch. Thanks!

Dear Anonymous -

Sorry I can't write you back directly! I couldn't fit my boys' jeans in my sewing machine at all so I had to hand-stitch the patches on!

Can I send all of Peyton's pants to you. I don't know what she does but she manages to get holes in every single pair of her pants.
