Should I Be Worried?

So due to all these wonderful kidney stone pains I've been having lately, my doctor put me on some new medication. The medication was prescribed while I was kinda out of it in the the E.R. the other day. I remember him saying something like, "I'm going to prescribe you a new medication that is supposed to ... blah, blah, blah, blah." You get the idea. Dude, if it's going to stop the pain and get rid of this little beast tearing up my insides, I'm all for it!

Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon when I took my second dose of this miracle drug. I swallowed the little beauty down with a nice big glass of cranberry juice (because we all know that cranberry juice is the huge cure-all for kidney stones right?). As an afterthought I figured I'd read the 'directions' that the pharmacist sent home with the drug. "Take with or without food." "Take medication once per day." "Blah, blah, blah." It was all the medical mumbo jumbo stuff that comes with every prescription. That is... until I read the following under 'Side Effects':

"Although most people tolerate Flomax well, there are some potential side effects of the medication. Some of the most common Flomax side effects include abnormal ejaculation, a runny or stuffy nose, and dizziness. In many cases, side effects are minor and can be easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. However, there are several side effects of Flomax that you should report to your healthcare right away, including signs of an allergic reaction or a painful erection that will not go away."

So, um, should I be concerned about this? Because... well... no need to state the obvious!

And then further down I saw this:

(You can also read about other possible side effects by reading:
* Flomax and Weight Gain * Flomax and Depression)

Yay me! Guess what... all side effects mentioned above (well, obviously not ALL) are welcome if it means I get to get rid of this little beast!

LOL! Oh Karli! You are so funny. You amaze me. I love the humor that you see life's trials through. Too funny.
Hope you get rid of that little beast REALLY soon!

Seems your body is more than happy to throw you under the bus these days. I hope you recover quickly and hope all is well.

That first "warning" I don't think you should have a problem with but what if you were to slip that silly little pill into your hubby's drink? If something happens, do you think he would think something's up or, at least wrong? (sorry for the pun)

Glad some of the toughest obstacles you face are taken head on with such an awesome attitude.

P.S. - Don't tell your husband anything. That'll be an ugly beast all its own!

Don't you love those side effect warnings that come with every prescription. Sometimes I wonder. Well I hope this works for you and thank goodness you are NOT a boy. heheheheh. So funny. Take girl.

Banish the beast! Oh, how I hope this works for you! If you have a painful erection that won't go away, just tell him to leave you alone, and go shopping.

Karli, Wendy (who has kidney stones, too) told me that cranberry juice is good for UTIs but NOT for kidney stones--lemonade for kidney stones, according to her. Might want to check it out.

I wonder what ejaculation, runny nose and dizziness have in common? What a funny combination! I wish you could just go have those nasty things blasted! How long will they let you go before you can do anything procedure wise?
